2020- The Year that changed our lives. The Year of having a new normal, and for us, it's a year of appreciating what we have instead of what we don't have.
As I reflect on the crazy year we had, I choose to focus on the bright side and count our blessings.
And this is what we did in 2020.
We built a fantastic community! A community of new parents, grandparents, aunties, uncles, cousins, friends, families and so much more.
We also became a part of the Cleft Community. We raised awareness together, learned from each other, educated others, and helped those in need.
Covid came. While we were on lockdown, we all worked together from our homes. Through our GoFundMe page and your donations, we were able to donate masks during the peak of lockdown when there was a shortage of PPE's for healthcare heroes.
We made new friends and have our first three HuRo Kids Stockists across Canada this year.
May to June, we joined the Smile Movement Campaign and celebrated Operation Smile Longest Day of Smiles.
Then July's Cleft Awareness was over the top. We learned so much, expanded our reach, and even met new mothers who were on the same cleft journey as us.
We are also very excited to share that our Operation Smile Canada donations were matched. Together, we can help 33 children born with a cleft condition get their life-changing surgeries for their forever smile since our launch!
2020 is the Year of Pandemic, it's also the Year of making the most of what we have and what we can. The Year where we count or blessings. We couldn't have done it without you.
